There are types of acne:

  • Comedonal acne
  • Hormonal acne
  • Inflammatory acne
  • Cystic acne
  • Steroid-induced acne
  • Acne caused by allergy
  • Acne/rosacea

Acne encompasses various types, each presenting distinct characteristics and requiring specific treatments. Comedonal acne involves blocked pores, manifesting as whiteheads or blackheads. Inflammatory acne results from bacterial infection, causing red and swollen lesions like papules and pustules. Nodular and cystic acne are severe forms, forming deep, painful nodules or cysts beneath the skin. Hormonal acne often affects women, triggered by hormonal fluctuations. Acne rosacea leads to redness and visible blood vessels on the face. Knowing the type of acne is crucial for tailored management, including topical treatments, oral medications, and lifestyle adjustments, fostering effective and personalized skincare approaches.
